In the global south, people face issues of poor water quality. The water used for laundry purposes is taken from rivers and wells, and it often contains sediments that make it turbid, thus not suitable for laundry. Using flocculantion technologies as additives can purify/clarify to water for laundry. The flocculant agglomerates the dirt particles which makes it easier to be removed before hand-washing the clothes.
We researched different sustainable ways to create a product to easily separate the flocules from the water. Using local resources, filtero is a cheap solution for people in vulnerable communities to be able to clean the water they use to do laundry.
The proposal aims to enable an easy and holistic process, from carrying the clothes to the rivers to drying the laundry.
The video explains in detail the proposal and the impact it can have.
